About This Special Issue
Cancer is a global challenge and the incidence is increasing. Among all the cancers, lung cancer is found to be most frequently diagnosed cancer followed by female breast cancer. Lung cancer is the frequently diagnosed cancer and the leading cause of cancer death among males, whilst breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer and the leading cause of cancer death among females. Cancer is mainly caused by varied deregulation of cell signaling pathways. Although significant advances have been made in the development of novel drugs, there is a huge need for new molecules or for improved versions of existing drugs. This is due to a high failure rate (90%) and the success rate for cancer drugs from phase III clinical trials to final approval is lower than 5%. In this special issue we hope to publish articles on experimental cancer therapies, synthetic therapies, therapies extracted from natural products, clinical trials, traditional medicine related to cancer.
